An example activity that can be applied in classrooms;
SUBJECT: MATCHING
OBJECTIVE: TO MATCH THE GIVEN OBJECT, EVENT, OR ASSETS BACK TO VARIOUS CHARACTERISTICS
TARGET BEHAVIOR: MATCHING GIVEN OBJECTS ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSE OF USE
AGE: 4-6
MATERIAL: A Cardboard Rectangle and Marker Pens, Adhesive
APPLICATION: A large rectangle is cut out of the cardboard. A tea glass, a vase and an aquarium are drawn on the left side of this rectangle, respectively. A bunch of flowers, a teaspoon and three fish are drawn on the right corner respectively. Then the shapes drawn with felt-tip pens are painted. Thus, a cluster is created. Objects in this set are different from each other but related to each other. This set is hung in a place where all children can easily see it. Then the children are asked to say the objects that are related to each other. In such a set, children will match by considering the intended use of objects. After the children say that the vase and the flowers are related to the tea glass, the teaspoon and the aquarium and the fish, one of the children is given a pen and the child is asked to combine the related objects.
We hope that our children will grow up as creative and productive individuals who are curious, researching, able to develop positive behavior towards other fields along with mathematics.
